Clinical Study of Levofloxacin Treatment Acute Infectious Diseases in ENT Field

Abstract
Levofloxacin(LVFX), an optical isomer of Ofioxacin(OFLX). a new quinolone. synthetic antibacterial agent was reported to be approximately, two fold more active against aerobic bacteria than OFLX and it penetrates into tissues well except ;-or the central nervous system.
The objective of this study is to determine the efficacy. safety and toleration of LVFX in the treatment of patient with acute otitis media. sinusitis. tonsillitis and pharyngitis.
We analyzed 32 patients who were treated with LVFX through the open non-comparative study. LVFX was administered I00mg t.i.d orally. Clinical signs and symptoms, culture and sensitivity test and blood and urine laboratory profiles were assessed.
LVFX appeared to be an effective, safe and well tolerable in the treatment for acute infectious diseases in ENT field.
